Nasal Release Technique
in Stillwater

If you’ve had a concussion, whiplash, or a hard knock to the head, you probably know the brain fog that can linger afterward. Headaches that won’t quit, dizziness that seems to come out of nowhere, or trouble thinking clearly can make everyday life feel harder than it should.

At Sunrise Health Institute, Dr. Matt offers Nasal Release Technique, an unusual but quick cranial technique he may consider for some patients experiencing lingering concerns following a concussion or head injury.

You can start with a free, no-obligation consultation to learn more about the technique and ask any questions you have.

What Happens During Nasal Release Technique?

Nasal Release Technique may sound a little unfamiliar, but the process itself happens quickly. A small finger cot, similar to a tiny balloon, is inserted into the nasal passage and briefly inflated before being deflated again.

Dr. Matt describes the goal as encouraging movement in areas of the skull that he believes may become restricted following certain injuries. He works through six nasal passages, three on each side, using eight brief inflations in total. Each inflation lasts only about one or two seconds.

What does it feel like? It’s an unusual sensation and can be uncomfortable, somewhat like a deep nasal swab. The good news is that each inflation is over almost as soon as it begins.

Why We Use This Technique

Dr. Matt most often considers Nasal Release Technique for people experiencing lingering concerns following concussion or other head injuries. These may include headaches, brain fog, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, or changes in how clearly they feel they’re thinking.

Patients have also told us they’ve noticed improvements in areas such as nasal breathing, alertness, or vision following the technique. Individual experiences vary, however, and those changes can’t be predicted for every patient.

Dr. Matt is certified in Nasal Release Technique, and headaches and concussion-related cases are among the areas of practice he finds most rewarding.
