Pregnancy Chiropractic in Stillwater
Pregnancy brings a lot of changes, and some of them can be uncomfortable. Low back soreness, sciatica, postural changes, and digestive discomfort can all show up as your body adapts to a growing baby.
At Sunrise Health Institute, we use a gentle, instrument-based approach that can be adapted as your body changes throughout pregnancy.
A Comfortable, Instrument-Based Approach
Lying face down on a table isn’t exactly comfortable when you’re expecting, so we take a different approach. During pregnancy, we adjust patients while they’re seated.
We use the ArthroStim®, a handheld instrument that delivers light, rapid impulses to areas he identifies during the adjustment. There’s no traditional twisting, popping, or cracking, which many pregnant women appreciate as their bodies become more sensitive and their comfort needs change.
Why Pregnancy Can Feel So Different
During pregnancy, your body releases relaxin, a hormone that helps prepare the pelvis for delivery. As ligaments become more flexible and your center of gravity shifts, muscles may have to work differently to keep you steady.
Some of the concerns we commonly see during pregnancy include:
- Low back or mid-back soreness
- Sciatica or discomfort that travels into the leg
- Digestive discomfort
- Postural changes as your center of gravity shifts
Care is based on what you’re experiencing rather than following the same plan for every pregnancy.

Care That Changes Along With You
How often you come in depends on your needs and whether you were already receiving chiropractic care before becoming pregnant.
For established patients, we may recommend visits once or twice a month early in pregnancy, around twice a month during the second trimester, and more frequently in the third trimester as changes in posture and center of gravity happen more quickly. Recommendations are individualized, so your schedule may look different.
After delivery, care can also be adjusted to what your body is experiencing as posture and everyday movement change again.
A Gentler Option as Your Body Changes
