Chiropractic
CareChiropractic Care
At Sunrise Health Institute, we use gentle, instrument-assisted adjustments with the ArthroStim that are tailored to the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather than using traditional twisting, popping, or cracking, the ArthroStim delivers light, rapid impulses to specific areas of the spine. We evaluate your spine and how it is moving to determine where care is needed.
From babies and growing kids to busy adults and older adults, our goal is to meet you where you are and provide care that is appropriate for your body and your stage of life.
People seek chiropractic care for many different reasons and at many different stages of life.
Babies & Children
Gentle care may be considered for children when appropriate, with techniques adapted specifically for their small size and developing bodies.Teens
Growing bodies are constantly changing, and teenagers may experience changes related to growth, posture, sports, school, and everyday activities. Care can be adapted to their individual needs and comfort level.Adults
We commonly see adults with concerns such as back and neck pain, headaches, sciatica, muscle and joint discomfort, or changes in movement and mobility. Care can also be helpful for people who simply want to maintain how their body is moving and functioning.Older Adults
As we get older, maintaining comfortable movement and mobility can become increasingly important. Care can be adapted for older adults and their individual needs, abilities, and comfort levels.- Back and neck pain
- Sciatica
- Headaches
- Shoulder and other joint concerns
- Knee, elbow, and foot problems
- Areas that feel stiff, restricted, or aren’t moving properly
This approach can also be a great choice for someone who has been hesitant to try chiropractic because they aren’t comfortable with traditional adjustments.
- Gentle & comfortable: Light, rapid impulses are used instead of traditional twisting or forceful movements.
- No popping or cracking: If the thought of having your spine “cracked” makes you uncomfortable, this approach may be a better fit.
- Personalized to you: Care can be adapted to your age, body type, individual needs, and comfort level.
- Focused on how you move: We look at how your spine and joints are moving and work to address areas of restriction or dysfunction.
- The goal: Chiropractic care isn’t just about making a painful area feel better. The goal is to help your body move and function better, giving it the opportunity to do what it was designed to do so that you can get back to doing and enjoying what you want to do.

Shockwave
TherapyShockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy uses acoustic (sound) waves to work with areas of the body that have been dealing with an injury or irritation for a long time. A handheld applicator is placed against the skin and delivers sound waves into the area being treated. These waves are intended to help address changes that can develop over time, such as scar tissue, adhesions, and calcium deposits, while encouraging healthy blood flow to the area.
Shockwave is often used for long-standing injuries, chronic joint concerns, and stubborn soft tissue problems, especially areas that haven’t responded as expected or seem to have gotten “stuck.”
Some common uses include:
- Chronic knee, shoulder, and elbow concerns
- Tendon and tendon-related problems
- Plantar fasciitis and chronic foot pain
- Neuropathy
- Achilles tendon concerns
- Tennis elbow and other elbow problems
- Rotator cuff and other shoulder issues
- Chronic ankle problems and old ankle injuries
- Areas with scar tissue or adhesions
- Calcium deposits in soft tissue
- Chronic muscle and soft tissue pain
- Other areas where tissue healing and movement have been slow or limited
- Non-invasive: Shockwave is delivered through the skin with a handheld applicator. There are no needles or injections involved.
- Works with stubborn areas: It can be especially helpful when you’re dealing with an older injury or an area that has been difficult to get moving in the right direction.
- Encourages blood flow: The sound waves are intended to encourage circulation and support the body’s natural healing processes in the treated area.
- Individualized care: Your care plan is based on your specific condition and how your body responds. A typical plan may include 5-10 weekly appointments, although this can vary from person to person.
- The goal: The goal of Shockwave Therapy is to help improve the health and function of an area that has been struggling to heal or move properly, so you can get back to doing the things you want to do.

Frequency Specific
Microcurrent (FSM)Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)
Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a gentle therapy that uses very low levels of electrical current to work with specific areas of the body.
FSM is a much gentler cousin of a TENS unit. Most people barely feel the current, and some don’t feel it at all.
FSM uses two channels at the same time, with specific frequencies selected based on the type of tissue being addressed and what the body is dealing with. The goal is to provide the body with the specific frequencies needed to support the healing process.
FSM can be used for a variety of recent injuries and longer-standing concerns, including:
- Sprains and strains
- Tendon and ligament injuries
- Muscle and soft tissue injuries
- Areas affected by scar tissue or adhesions
- Chronic soft tissue concerns
- Certain bone injuries during recovery
- Areas where healing has been slow or difficult
- Very gentle: The current is extremely low level, and most people barely notice it.
- For both new and old injuries: FSM may be used during the recovery of a recent injury as well as for concerns that have been around for much longer.
- Specific to your needs: Frequencies are selected based on the type of tissue and the specific concern being addressed.
- Non-invasive: FSM works through gentle electrical currents delivered through the skin, without needles or injections.
- The goal: The goal of FSM is to support the body’s natural healing processes and help tissues function better, whether you’re recovering from a recent injury or dealing with something that has been hanging around for a while. Care recommendations are individualized, but a typical plan may include 4-12 visits, depending on the concern and how your body responds.

Nasal Release
TechniqueNasal Release Technique
Nasal Release Technique is a quick, gentle cranial technique that uses a small inflatable device placed in the nasal passage.
The technique is intended to create a gentle expansion through the nasal passages and surrounding structures. We may use it when we believe certain areas have become restricted following a concussion, whiplash, or other head injury.
Nasal Release Technique may be considered for some patients who are experiencing lingering concerns after a concussion, whiplash, or other head injury, such as:
- Headaches
- Brain fog
- Dizziness
- Difficulty concentrating
- Feeling “foggy” or less alert
- Nasal congestion or difficulty breathing through the nose
- A sense of pressure or restriction in the head or face
Why choose Nasal Release Technique?
- Quick & comfortable: The technique is performed quickly and uses a small inflatable device to create gentle pressure within the nasal passage.
- Another option for lingering concerns: For some patients, it may be a helpful addition to their care when symptoms continue after an injury.
- May support nasal breathing: Some patients notice changes in how freely they can breathe through their nose following the technique.
- Individual experiences vary: Every person and every injury is different. Some patients report improvements in symptoms such as alertness, headaches, or brain fog, but results cannot be predicted for every patient.
- The goal: The goal is to help improve movement and reduce areas of restriction that may have developed following an injury, while supporting the body’s ability to recover and function better.

Pregnancy
ChiropracticPregnancy Chiropractic
Pregnancy chiropractic is gentle chiropractic care adapted specifically for the changes your body goes through during pregnancy.
At Sunrise Health Institute, we use the ArthroStim to provide gentle, instrument-assisted adjustments. Instead of needing to lie face down, adjustments can be performed while you are seated, making care easier and more relaxing as your pregnancy progresses.
Dr. Matt has additional training in pregnancy adjusting and can adapt care to your changing body and individual needs.
As your baby grows, your posture, balance, and center of gravity naturally change. These changes can sometimes contribute to discomfort or changes in the way you move.
Pregnancy chiropractic may be considered for:
- Low back soreness
- Mid-back discomfort
- Sciatica
- Postural changes
- Muscle and joint discomfort
- Changes in movement or mobility
- General aches and discomfort associated with the physical changes of pregnancy
- May shorten length of labor and delivery times
Why choose Pregnancy Chiropractic?
- Comfortable positioning: There is no need to lie face down. Adjustments can be performed while you’re comfortably seated.
- Gentle & adaptable: The ArthroStim allows care to be adjusted as your body changes throughout pregnancy.
- Individualized care: Every pregnancy is different, so your care is based on your comfort, needs, and how your body is responding.
- Support throughout pregnancy: Your needs can change from one stage of pregnancy to another, and your care plan can change with you.
- The goal: The goal is to help your body move and function as comfortably as possible as it adapts to the changes of pregnancy. Gentle chiropractic care can be one part of helping you stay comfortable and active throughout your pregnancy and possibly help shorten labor and delivery.

Sports
ChiropracticSports Chiropractic
Sports Chiropractic is chiropractic care designed around the way you move and the activities you love to do.
We use gentle, instrument-assisted adjustments that can be performed while you are moving or in the position where you notice the problem. This allows us to evaluate how your body is moving during activities such as a swing, stride, throw, squat, or lift and address areas that may be affecting your performance or movement.
We work with college and high school athletes from the area, as well as active adults and weekend athletes.
Sports Chiropractic may be considered for:
- Shoulder concerns
- Knee problems
- Elbow or wrist concerns
- Ankle and foot problems
- Back pain or stiffness
- Neck concerns
- Areas that aren’t moving or functioning the way they should
- Injuries or discomfort that interfere with training, competition, or everyday activities
Why choose Sports Chiropractic?
- Care that moves with you: We can evaluate and adjust the body during movement or in the position where you notice the problem.
- Specific to your sport: Your body has different demands depending on what you do. Care can be adapted to the movements, positions, and demands of your particular sport or activity.
- Focused on how you move: Rather than only looking at where something hurts, we can look at how your body is moving and functioning as a whole.
- For athletes at every level: Whether you’re competing at the college level, training regularly, or just enjoying your favorite weekend activity, care can be tailored to your individual needs.
- The goal: The goal is to help your body move and function at its best so you can keep doing the activities you enjoy. Sports Chiropractic can be part of injury-focused care or simply a regular part of an athlete’s overall wellness and performance routine.
