Sports Chiropractic in Stillwater
A shoulder that only bothers you during a lift. A knee that acts up when you run. A back issue that seems fine until you swing a golf club. Sometimes an athletic injury doesn’t show itself until you’re doing the exact movement your sport demands.
At Sunrise Health Institute, we work with college and high school athletes from the area, along with active adults throughout Stillwater.
Care That Looks at How You Move
Sports chiropractic here may look a little different than you expect. Instead of relying on traditional manual adjustments, we use the ArthroStim®, a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers light, rapid impulses without traditional twisting, popping, or cracking.
One advantage of this approach is that we can assess and adjust you through a range of motion or in a specific position. If your shoulder only hurts during a certain part of your swing, for example, we may ask you to recreate that movement so we can work with the area while the problem is actually showing up.

From Injuries to Regular Tune-Ups
We work with athletes experiencing a variety of concerns, including:
- Shoulder, knee, elbow, or ankle problems during activity
- Low back or neck discomfort
- Sports injuries that are keeping you from normal training
- Ongoing care for athletes who want regular tune-ups
Dr. Matt also has additional training in extremity adjusting, which he uses when working with areas such as the shoulders, knees, elbows, and ankles.
How quickly you return to activity depends on the type and severity of the injury, how long it’s been bothering you, and how you respond to care. Your recommendations will be based on what’s happening with your body rather than a standard sports care plan.
Care That Moves With Your Sport
Whether you compete for a college team, train at the gym, hit the golf course on weekends, or simply like staying active, your care should reflect how you actually move.
